Wedding Planning Is Hard

So, my fiance and I are doing the big shebang next year and I don't know where to start. I've gathered inspirational photos for references but there's so many choices that its so overwhelming its giving me a  headache! It's really, really hard to plan a big event ON YOUR OWN. I do have a coordinator plus my fiance's family have been very helpful but we kinda want different things.

I wanted it to be simple, sweet, and intimate. They, on the other hand, want something grand. I pondered about it and finally decided to be a little fancy.

It's hard to choose on "the one" dress, or ring design, or whatever else. But for the gown, I think I'm going with this:

gown by Irna La Perle
Its very muslim but romantic and vintage at the same time. Plus, it doesn't use much lace so that'll cost me less :P I'm thinking of taking off the bolero after the ceremony and I'm thinking of looking into another headpiece design. Maybe I'll opt for a headband or something so I can have my hair styled.

Speaking of weddings, Liz of Project Vanity has a perfect contest for me!!! I saw it this morning I think (or was it yesterday?) but didn't pay much attention until I read it again tonight and saw that its a contest for brides to be. Of course I want to join! hehe It'll also save me the money I'm supposed to spend before my wedding on the same things I planned on doing! So I really hope I win this :D :D :D

Here's the contest poster:

Contest question: How do you plan to look your best?

I've actually started on my plan to look the bestest ever on my wedding day. For the year before the wedding, I planned on exercising to achieve a toned and generally a great bod when my wedding day comes. I did have a waistline target but I realized that reaching that would make me look too thin and I didn't want that. Anyway, I signed up for Bikram Yoga classes and other yoga styles for my workout routine. I got hooked on yoga too!

My second plan is to have great skin. For the past two years, I haven't had visited a dermatologist or had a facial done so I started to have it done regularly now starting last March, this year. I'm also considering diamond peel done on mah fez. I think Asian Secrets could definitely help with my skin regime and I wish I could try out the products. Maybe I'll check it out at Watson's this week. ;)

For the month of the wedding, I wanted to really pamper myself with spa, hair treatments, maybe a trim (I'm saving my hair for the wedding. I need it to be long), the works. I'm excited about it. I love those kinds of pampering stuff. :D I'm also having a henna party for my bridal entourage. Getting a bridal henna is a tradition in some Muslim and Indian weddings. Henna or Mendhi, is applied on the hands and feet of the bride. Here's one of the designs I've been checking out:

I'm not sure yet if I'm having mendhi done on my hands. I would also need shoes that could showcase the artwork. Hmm...

So there, that's a glimpse of the wedding plan, mostly about my how-to-look-your-bestest-on-your-wedding-day plan. :P I'm currently organizing everything and narrowing down the choices. I've yet to blog about that (or maybe create a different site for it).
